Classic and commercial sunglasses frames with modernized design elements. Covering a variety of iconic shapes: aviators, oversized squared, retro round, wayfarer with mixed acetate and metal, and other fashion-forward frames.

Hero
The ‘Trap’ oversized square sunglasses were the hardest hitters of the assortment. They expertly blended bold, fashion-forward charisma with classic, everyday wearability.

CMF
The CMF was primarily influenced by MVMT’s SS20 hero watch collection, as well as relevant trends in the eyewear world.

Range
Clear acetates were the dominant trend at the time and were utilized throughout most of the drops. More timeless styles like basic tortoises and black acetates rounded the collection out nicely.

Colormatching with collection
We matched the sunglasses color scheme to the overall color story of the brand’s SS20 product drops.

Assortment
The remainder of the assortment received a seasonal color treatment, with the exception of a few styles that received more specialized color pops.

Acetate aviator
The acetate aviator’s unique personality lent itself to more bold color tests, with both a red gradient fade and a solid color. We eventually landed with the safer solid color.

Oversized squared
An evolution of an existing, smaller and highly popular style in both optical and sunglass versions. A larger, more exclusive reimagining with faded gradient lenses was requested.

Reception
The SS20 sunglasses collection was very well-received, with the bold Trap frames as instant sellouts. Clear acetate styles were also very popular amongst MVMT’s millennial demographic.
